1. Please take out the handout you picked up at the beginning of class.

2. As you can see, there are different handouts. When I say "Go" do the following:

3. Find the other classmates who have the same handout.

4. Each of the handouts is an example of a Muckraker's work. Using the computer as your tool, as a group find the author of this muckrake.

5. Once your group knows who the author is, research the author. Find out some biographical information such as

  • Her/his date of birth

  • Where he/she grew up

  • What their life was like

  • Discover how, why, and when they chose to be a Muckraker

  • Also include what they are most known for

  • What the title of your excerpt is and what it is about

(Note: This is not a comprehensive list).

6. Once you and your group has gathered all of the information, organize it into a presentation format. Your group must have at least one visual aid such as a power point, word document, publisher document or Prezi. After each group is finished, each group will present their Muckrakers to the class.

7. You will be given the rest of the class period today and part of the class period tomorrow to do your research and formulate your presentation. USE CLASSTIME WISELY!!!!
